Senior Managing Director, Asset Management
Peter leads all asset management activities throughout the MDH Fund and BREIT/MDH portfolios across the country. In addition to leading MDH’s asset management team, he also oversees adaptive mixed-use redevelopment efforts for the firm with its JV partner.
Pete’s experience spans 30+ years in commercial real estate advisory services, asset management, development and leasing of multiple asset classes including logistics, luxury hospitality, multi-family and Class-A office across a wide geography in the U.S. and Europe. He entered the industrial and logistics space in late 1999 when The Blackstone Group acquired M.D. Hodges Enterprises, Inc., predecessor to MDH Partners; Jeff Small recruited Pete then to join the company from another Blackstone affiliate.
He re-joined Jeff and several other former M.D. Hodges colleagues at MDH Partners in 2019. As a Partner in the firm and leading the MDH Asset Management team, Pete brings his experience across all asset classes and multiple markets to deliver best practices and services to its broker-partners in leasing, to its customers and to its Limited Partners.
In 2010, Blackstone tapped Pete to become a member of the launch team for IndCor Properties where he helped the platform to amass a 127 million square foot logistics portfolio across the U.S., subsequently selling it to GLP for $8.1 billion in 2015. Following Blackstone’s sale of M.D. Hodges in 2005, Pete became a member of the development and investment teams with AIG Global Real Estate where he was involved with the Atlantic Station, a $3 billion mixed-use project in Midtown Atlanta and responsible for several large-scale high-rise development projects.
Earlier in his career, which began in 1989, Pete held various positions at the Portman Companies and The Landmarks Group in Atlanta. Throughout his career, he has been an active member of NAIOP and the Urban Land Institute.
Pete received an undergraduate degree in Real Estate and Finance from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. As well, he earned an Advanced Management Development in Real Estate (AMDP) degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. Pete grew up in Atlanta and is a graduate of the Marist School.
